Hi anybody testing the wrapper,
I just stumbled over a strange thing regarding
memory allocation on the verite, which
may cause problems for 4MB cards:
*Normally*, if everything runs ok, the wrapper
allocates the frame buffers first and then
grabs all the remaining memory for a texture
cache. And *normally*, the size of the cache
is right according to all known formulas (as
included, for example in the rredline
documentation), i.e., in my 8MB card I
*normally* get about 6 MB texture cache....
However, in the demo of Motorhead I only
get 4MB texture, which would mean that
owners of 4MB get no texture cache at all...
Is this right?
Can someone with a 4MB card please verify
that he/she is unable to play Motorhead?
If you set LogMode=1 or 2, the size of the
allocated texture cache is given in a line
reading "size of texture cache: xxxx k".
Could you all please verify how much
memory you get with your card in different
games or demos??!!!
Thanks for your help...
